Oryann is a nearly completely electronic band, using synth and programming for most to all of the sounds. It's everything real in a very surreal backdrop.
Good music these days is extremely hard to find, or so it seems. This may differ for all of us, but to me, the meaning and real passion behind music has been slipping out of its grasp for years now. The only thing that makes music mean something is being yourself. Oryann is just that for me.
Oryann is a blend of many genres of music. It is an art form. It is a mix of feelings, experiences, ideals, concepts, and stories from my life - about everything and anything that's crossed my mind. Drawing influence from bands like the Smashing Pumpkins, Julien-K, Celldweller, The Anix, Orgy, Depeche Mode, Zeromancer, Daft Punk, and The Birthday Massacre, it is mostly electronic, with a hint of rock and many other genres.
Other music isn't the only thing that's influenced me, however, and this band is not just me, it is also my beloved girlfriend Nicole - who has helped me in every way, shape and form. She designed this website and does all of the artwork. It's a hybrid of music and art, which bounce ideas off each other and create something beautiful. The visual aspect of this project is in every way just as important as the musical aspect, and plays and equal part of whatever story we're trying to tell. The idea is to create a blend of both that will blow you away.
This project is based on honesty and openness. It's influenced by life, love, pain, space, rain, death, eternity, nature, and everything in between. It will be different than any other band, in that we want to bring you the whole side of not only the final product, but the creative process of the music. Demos will be put up timely, and as more and more is finished of each piece, I'll try to find a way to present it. More will be explained over time. Enjoy and indulge!
